Network load forecast Network load forecast

The following graph provides our weather based three day forecast of network total “uncontrolled load”.

Uncontrolled load is the load level that would have occurred in the absence of load management activities (like peak hot water shedding). Most of our load management activities just shift load by a few hours. So, “actual load” is lower than uncontrolled load while load is being managed, and this is followed by a recovery period where actual load is higher than uncontrolled load (eg where peak hot water heating catches up).

We use uncontrolled load to trigger our control periods for major customers, and peak periods for general connections. For details see Network load management
